In this article I will tell you what is the best money to take to Turkey, where is it profitable to change it? I will give advice to those tourists who go on vacation for the first time without knowing how to use ATMs, and also tell you what fraudulent schemes work today.

I have already talked a lot about my trip, I especially recommend reading the differences in the cuisine of 3-star and 5-star hotels in Turkey, about a real Turkish bath - Hamam, what prices for excursions await you, I recommend reading especially to those tourists who are going to have a rest for the first time.

What money is best to take to Turkey, is it safer to travel with cash or have everything on the card? First of all, when collecting for a trip, you need to get a VISA or Maestro card in a good bank and open a foreign currency account on it. If you already have a card, ask if you can use it abroad.

I could use my card only in Russia, so I had to go to the bank and write an application to be allowed to use the card abroad. When traveling to Turkey, I advise you to put money in dollars into your account, I will tell you later why.

But before that, dollars must be bought at a favorable rate, for example, I looked through the morning exchange rates in all banks in my city, and where it was cheapest to buy, there I bought green papers. It is worth noting that if you do not have a large amount, then there is no point in running around the banks in search of a low cost.

Money to Turkey should be taken either in Turkish lira or dollars, it is best to take in dollars, forget about euros altogether. Put a little less money on the card and take more than half in cash, and when buying dollars at the bank, ask for small bills with a denomination of 1,5,10 this is the most popular denomination.

You can forget about the Turkish lira, because at beach resorts, out of all the money, you can pay much faster and absolutely everywhere in dollars or euros, and the sellers themselves always say ‘’ Come on green ’’.

If you nevertheless decide to take money in Turkish lira, then exchange dollars for Turkish money already in Turkey, here it can be done without commission, for example, I used the services of Zirat Bank, I think other banks have the same conditions.

So, what money to take to Turkey is clear to you, but now it's worth talking about which ATMs are worth using and whether this is a profitable business for a Russian tourist. And most importantly, how scammers use it and how not to fall for the bait.

I have already said that it is better to put less money on a card than to take in cash, the fact is that there is a huge problem with ATMs in resort cities. ATMs in Turkish resort cities constantly work intermittently and irrevocably eat up cards, how can you use ATMs in Turkey?

Many tourists do not use the machine for issuing money in resort towns and go to the bank to withdraw currency there, this will win you if there are problems with communication and protect yourself.

As a rule, all ATMs are located in large cities, while terminals are very rare in resort towns. If he ate the card, then the first thing you need to do is go to the bank and sort it out there, but then another problem arises - the staff in all the banks I came across was not Russian speaking, I had to use gestures.

But this is still half the trouble that can happen to you, also on the streets of the resort towns of Turkey there are ATMs - scammers. You put your card in and want to withdraw money, while you are doing this, your card has already been emptied by scammers. To avoid this, as I said, many tourists go to the city and withdraw money from terminals located in the very bank of Turkey.

Now let's talk about government fraud, if you want to use ATMs, be prepared to pay a commission on the amount withdrawn, as a rule, it is 5 - 9 percent.

Recently I was told the news from Sberbank, this is not an advertisement, but advice from me, in general, Sberbank concluded an agreement with the Turkish bank Deniz Bank that tourists with a Sberbank card can now withdraw money in Turkey without a commission, I have not tried, but if you have already done this, write in the comments, very interesting.

And finally, in stores, watch your card very closely, sellers - scammers very often ask you to enter the PIN code of your card, which you simply do not have to enter when buying, especially if you have VISA, thereby opening access to your account by withdrawing additional money.

This is exactly what happened to me when I bought a T-shirt, I was asked to enter a pin code, I did not immediately realize that it was not necessary to do this, it was enough to swipe with a magnetic tape and pay, thanks to my bank in Russia for instantly blocking my account.

I already found out about the actions of fraudsters in the technical support of my bank when I unblocked the account. Well, you know about what kind of money to take to Turkey, and also now you have learned how to carefully use the machine issue of money, I hope my article was useful to you.

From my trip, I realized that you need to take money for a vacation in Turkey in cash, and put on the card only the amount that is needed in unforeseen circumstances, which I advise you. And I advise you to use ATMs in Turkey only in large cities such as Antalya, Bodrum Marmaris or Istanbul.
