The iconic landmark and architectural symbol of Sevastopol is in all booklets about the city and on Russian banknotes of 200 rubles. The expressive monument appeared in 1905, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first defense. The granite column is installed directly into the sea, 23 meters from the shore. It gives rise to sad feelings, and I want to endlessly watch how the waves beat against the stone pedestal.
