WHERE TO GO IN KAZAN IN THE SUMMER AT THE 2018 WORLD CUP?

Recently, Kazan has developed greatly and has already begun to attract a huge number of tourists. According to the rating of the TripAdvisor website in 2014, Kazan was included in the list of the fastest growing destinations for tourism and took 8th place in the world and 3rd place in Europe. According to the same site, the city took 3rd place in the top of the best tourist destinations in Russia in 2015.

Five years ago, Kazan hosted the 2013 Summer Universiade, in July-August 2015, the World Aquatics Championship was held, and very soon in June-July 2018 the World Cup is awaiting us. In this regard, we decided to prepare a convenient route around Kazan, which we used ourselves more than once.

1. Start from the center (m. Tukay Square). Admire the Millennium Park, Lake Kaban, then you can walk along Bauman Street, look at the Bell Tower of the Epiphany Cathedral, built in 1750.

2. To the right of Bauman Street is the main building of KFU and Kremlin Street.

3. Having reached the end of the Kremlin street, you will get to the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan Kremlin, the Kul-Sharif mosque and the Syuyumbike tower.

4. After reviewing all the sights above, go down to the Kazanka River, reaching the Palace of Farmers. Then walk along the Palace Embankment towards the Gorky Park, which has recently been completely renovated.

5. Until you walk to the Park im. Gorky along the embankment, in front you will see the Millennium Bridge, built by the 1000th of Kazan.

All this can be viewed in one day. If you still have time, I advise you to walk to the Museum of Socialist Life, the Open Museum of Military Equipment in Victory Park.

Be sure to get to the Raifsky Monastery (about 30 minutes from Kazan) and walk through the Volga-Kama State Nature Reserve.

Visit the island city of Sviyazhsk, located 1.5 hours from Kazan.
