The temple has a rectangular shape, pointed arches, a round domed prayer hall and four minarets, the last of which symbolizes the reign of Suleiman.

The structure withstood 89 earthquakes and survived a fire in 1660. In 2000, the temple was restored. During the reign of Suleiman, he also served as a haven for the poor, with him a canteen and a hospital were opened.
