You will never guess what tourists are doing while hugging a laptop or tablet while sitting in cafes, restaurants, on benches, in general, any places where there is WI-FI, all polls ask the question to search engines' What to bring from Vietnam as cosmetics, souvenirs, medicines, unusual gifts for friends. ' Paying attention to such tourists, I decided to leave a review on the best shopping ideas and places where it is cheaper to buy keepsakes.

What to bring from Vietnam?

This is actually the most important question of this article, in which I will try to help you and tell you where to buy souvenirs, what should not be taken out of Vietnam in any case, what is better to choose as a keepsake and for your loved ones.

Everything that is sold by and large can be bought in your city, and at lower prices. All branded clothing costs exactly the same as in Russia, as for clothing in general, the quality leaves much to be desired. But you shouldn't close your eyes, there is some material from which excellent things are made, it is worth buying it, I have not seen anything like it in the world, about it a little later.

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with everything about prices in Vietnam from a separate article, which will fully reveal the answers to this question.

What things to bring as a souvenir?

What things to buy in Vietnam? If you come here for such clothes as jeans or T-shirts, then go back home or China. Rather, you will find such clothes here on every corner, you can even find boutiques in branded clothing from Adidas or Reebok, but it will all cost exactly the same as yours. Many will disagree with me, they will say that some things are much cheaper in Vietnam, take my word for it, there are no quality things here at low prices.

And yet, if you really want to buy a thing, then I advise you to buy locally made things, for example, in many cities there are sewing workshops for sewing T-shirts, shirts, bamboo T-shirts. The quality is at its best, an ordinary men's T-shirt made of bamboo costs from 400,000 dongs, the price is indicated based on the purchase at a garment factory, shops sell at different prices.

We go further on things, the most important attribute that is being carried is the ‘non’ or the Vietnamese conical hat, just below I am in this hat. As for the non, this headdress is still worn by all the peasants working in the fields and in the sea, it very well shields you from the sun and also ventilates your head well. Non will cost you only $ 80, on the market you can bargain up to $ 40. You can take it out of the country in your carry-on baggage.

As for the material that I talked about at the beginning and which girls should definitely buy, they have not yet guessed what I mean - this is silk. The silk here is really high quality, and I mean silk made at the ‘XQ’ sewing workshop, I will have a separate article about this workshop from which you will learn how all clothes are made only by hand and how pictures are made from silk for at least half a year.

Where to buy silk in Vietnam? If you go on an excursion or on your own to the city of Dalat, then here you will find a factory called XQ, where they make such things and paintings with their own hands. You can find out about excursions and prices from me from a separate article entitled 'Excursions in Nha Trang and prices'. About things a little lower in the photos, but for now I'll go over the prices, one picture made of silk costs from $ 150 to several million dollars, a meter of silk costs from $ 80, a silk dress costs from $ 200, but now we are looking at the photos.

Cosmetics and medicines

At the expense of drugs, they are not here, the entire local population does not even know what chemical drugs are. If a Vietnamese catches a cold, then the most optimal treatment is the 'Star' balm and a net of iodine; in the most extreme cases of the disease, they begin to take an antibiotic.

As a medicine or a souvenir from Vietnam, you can bring Zvezdochka balm, and you can find it here both as an ointment and in the form of drops with various solutions. There is a chic selection of cosmetics made from natural raw materials. On one of the excursions, you will definitely be taken to the Meringa cosmetics manufacturing plant, they do absolutely everything from balms to dry perfumes.

As for the prices of cosmetics and medicines, the asterisk costs 120,000 VND, the mulberry tincture for insomnia - 250,000 VND (0.5 liters), an immune drink for all diseases called Meringa in capsules - 650,000 VND.

What souvenirs to buy in markets and shops?

The most commonplace souvenir according to tourists' reviews has always been a magnet. It is better to buy such souvenirs in the markets, but recently the Vietnamese are not very willing to bargain with the Russians, knowing that the Russian tourist will buy from the goods anyway. In order to somehow drop the price, you can do this, go up to ask the price, then step back a little and count the money off without change by 20% less, come back and say that you have only a certain amount and is a little short, in this situation 99 % of Vietnamese make concessions.

To be honest, I do not advise you to go to the markets for shopping, the prices here are the same as in stores. Personally, I went to one of the supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City, which is located further from the center, and picked up all the goods I needed. What Vietnamese souvenirs have I bought?

Here we will dwell a little more specifically, if you decide to purchase a tincture from the venom of a cobra and a scorpion, then we take any volume, even the smallest one, the volumes of such bottles: 0.2; 0.5; 1; 2 liters. If you decide to purchase such a drink as a medicine, then be sure to ask the seller if you can drink it. The thing is that small bottles are an ordinary solution with artificial toys inside, a real tincture will be expensive and have a volume of 1 liter or more.

As for the dose of this glorious drink with poison per person, we remember one single recommendation - this is not an alcoholic drink, but a healing one! It is recommended to drink it no more than one small glass or even a cork per day!

Tea

If you have not been to Thailand, then you should definitely bring tea from Vietnam. Here you can find tea both from pressure and earthen, and tea made from leaves that grow on the ground should definitely be tried at some tasting, but I do not recommend buying it, you can drink tea with the taste of ordinary earth at home. Earth tea, or rather its flat cake, weighing about one kilogram, costs $ 100, I think it's stupid to pay $ 100 for ordinary land.

But tea with ginseng, jasmine or white tea, I recommend that you definitely buy, in my city I never found such tastes and such aromas as here. If you have touched on the topic of tea drinking, then it is worth learning how to brew tea correctly. All tea is brewed here using a special device, tea is poured into it, then it is poured with hot water (not boiling water), the first portion of the tea leaves is poured out and, starting from the second portion, it is brewed in mugs for tea drinking.

This procedure especially applies to earthen tea, pour out the first brew, then brew it in our mug. The brewing device is sold both in the market and in stores, but I bought it in a supermarket for 20,300 dong, its photo is a little lower.

Which one to bring coffee from Vietnam?

Bringing coffee is a tradition for a Russian tourist. Where to buy coffee in Vietnam? Personally, I bought different varieties at the Prenn waterfall, it is here that coffee is sold both ground and in beans. The legendary 'Luvac' is also sold here, well, in principle, the manufacturer also sits in the cages - the martens that produce this variety.

The easiest way to get to Prenn waterfall is from Nha Trang. By the way, be sure to read the article when it is worth relaxing in Nha Trang, so as not to get caught in heavy rains. You can see the prices for coffee in Vietnam a little lower in the photos. As for the taste, I did not like Luvac coffee, for which they pay 50 euros per cup in Europe, it is very tart and strong. My advice is to try and buy Elephant, Moca Bourbon and Arabica coffee!

Prices for coffee beans in Vietnam

  • Arabica coffee costs 400,000 dongs per kilogram, you can buy packaged in packs of 250 grams for 105,000 dongs
  • Moca Bourbon coffee (cappuccino) costs 400,000 per kilogram
  • Luvac coffee costs 450,000 VND for half a kilogram
  • Elephant coffee costs VND 400,000 per pound
  • Green coffee costs 350,000 dong for half a kilogram

What kind of alcohol do they bring from vacation?

What alcohol can you bring from Vietnam? There is not a huge choice here and all tourists bring only a separate type of alcohol - Rum, there is nothing else to take from here. Rum can be purchased both in stores and in the market. A small percentage of tourists bring wine, but wine here is no different from ours, so the decision is yours.

What fruits to bring from Vietnam?

All fruits are cheaper to buy only in the markets, perhaps this is the only edible souvenir that is worth buying only in the markets, it is cheaper only here. Usually all fruits are sold in small baskets, so usually everyone buys, but this is where the surprises only begin.

As soon as you enter the customs office at the airport, you will be forced to eat a couple of kilograms, the fact is that usually such a basket weighs more than 5 kilograms, set for export per person in hand luggage. Therefore, we calculate the weight per tourist in advance! Below you will find out what and how much can be exported from Vietnam.

What cannot be exported from Vietnam

I'll start with fruits, prohibited for export: durian, watermelon, coconut, juke fruit. Everything is allowed from alcohol, but not higher than 41 degrees of strength, almost nothing falls under this degree, wine here is with a strength of 15 degrees, rum is 13 degrees, rice tincture is 8 degrees. As for souvenirs under the guise of seashells or other marine attributes, it is advisable to have a receipt from the store to save nerves and time at customs.
